System properties panel shows only 800 mhz of processing speed?

i have an AMD Turion 64 x 2 processor, which states 1600mhz, but when i go into my computer properties it only shows 800mhz, does this mean only 1 processor is being used?

Your computer manufacturer might have totaled the processor speed up with both cores, thus each is 800 MHz, 800 x 2 = 1,600. Windows shows only one core speed, so it might say just 800 MHz, or 800 MHz x2, or 1.6 GHz.
